A Pez Romance

Pez candies / sweets have been around for many years, they were invented in Austria by Eduard Haas III as an alternative to smoking. The sugar candies were originally sold in tins until a small mechanical box was made to hold and dispense the sweets.

My first introduction to them was through my childhood in the 1980’s and by then they had undergone a vast change. The bright colourful packaging along with the sweet sugar confectionery was every 80’s child’s dream.

This series of photography artworks are strongly inspired by childhood nostalgia, pop culture, and my interest in the human fascination of collecting.

All photographs are available to purchase as photographic Giclee prints and Art Postcards.
