Toy Story.

Toy Story is a whimsical look at toys in the urban space. Whilst growing up in a small industrial and economically deprived city, I often felt that the city lacked architectural colour and playfulness within the public realm. On my walk home from school or college I would regularly spot a lost toy catching the light and my eye like a magpie attracted to a shinning button.

This series of photographs not only captures the throw away nature of consumer products, but also highlights the missing wealth in so many of todays struggling urban spaces. By now we all know that the environment you live in can have a physical and mental effect on health. I try to bring humour and fun to relieve some pressure and infuse the colour and playfulness back into public realm through temporary moments of childhood memories.
